Active Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tags
A BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) tag is a small electronic device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to communicate wirelessly with BLE-compatible receivers. SIGSCAN offers its own receivers or we use compatible WIFI terminals in your establishment.
BLE tags regularly emit short-range signals containing the tag's unique identifier.
This signal is then transmitted to the SIGSCAN server, which performs the necessary calculations to define the tag's position.
There are several categories of tag depending on your use cases and the choice made by your establishment:

Passive RFID tags
An RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tag is a wireless tracking and identification device, which can take several forms. SIGSCAN only uses passive tags (without batteries).
It comes in the form of a thin, flexible label, often self-adhesive, making it easy to stick to a variety of surfaces. Communication takes place using radio waves to transmit information to an RFID reader without physical contact.
They consist of a small electronic chip and an antenna. The chip stores the information, while the antenna enables communication with the RFID reader. Passive RFID tags have no battery and are powered by the electromagnetic field generated by the RFID reader.
